• Do you offer any other classes or services?
Yes, the founder of Asobi Sport™, Sarah Harding is a nationally certified Pilates instructor and offers private equipment classes. If you are a parent or child caregiver, she can show you how to exercise on the traditional Joseph Pilates equipment while wearing your baby in a baby carrier. Of course, you don’t have to be a parent to benefit from Pilates. Whether or not you have kids, Sarah will provide posture-improving Pilates equipment classes that suit your needs. Sarah also speaks to parent educator organizations and health and fitness communities about the benefits and techniques of incorporating Pilates inspired exercise into your daily routine of nurturing children. To hire Sarah, please e-mail: info@asobisport.com
• Who designed the Asobi Sport™ Family Fitness program and how can I learn more?
Sarah Harding designed the Asobi Sport™ Family Fitness program. She is a mother of three daughters (including twins!), a Stanford graduate, former Cirque du Soleil acrobat, and the 2x winner of Ms. Fitness USA. You can learn more by following her blog and “liking” our facebook page. To learn even more about our founder, please visit her fitness website: Sarah Harding Fitness Inc..
• When are your classes offered?
Please check our calendar for our most up to date class schedule.
• Can Spouses/Grandparents/Friends come?
Of course! All family members and friends are welcome. Do any of the workouts “baby free!” Many Moms are supported by simply having Dad’s company! Please check out our Family Passes at our Registration Page.
• I have an older child. Can I bring him or her?
Yes! Older children are welcome. We encourage the older children to join Mom and Dad in the exercises. We do not offer outside childcare. We believe there are fun and creative ways to involve our children while we workout. Please complete the RSVP form prior to your first class. This will help your instructor prepare age appropriate exercises to involve your child and allow all class participants a great workout experience!
• Are your classes for expecting Moms?
Yes! This is a prenatal and postnatal fitness program. We can modify your workout to make sure you are comfortable. Please provide a doctor’s clearance note.
• Are the classes outdoors? What if it rains?
Asobi Sport™ Family Fitness classes are held outdoors. Our meeting spots are located on our calendar’s details. Click any class and you can see all the logistics. Plan for light rain. We will cancel class (sorry, no refund) if weather becomes unbearable. The Jia-Yo! “Wear Your Baby” Pilates Workshops and Jia-Yo! “Wear Your Baby” Workouts are located indoors at assigned locations. Again, please check ourcalendar for the most up-to-date class locations and times.
• Do I need a jogging stroller for the Asobi Sport™ Family Fitness class?
No. Any stroller is fine. However, if you’d like to run with your child in a stroller, jogging strollers are best. Running/jogging is not required. In fact a stroller is not required for our Family Fitness classes. This is what’s unique about our workout program. Do the entire class in a front or backpack carrier. We will make sure you have the correct safety guidelines while transporting your child the way you like!
• What if I’m pregnant with my first child and I don’t have a stroller yet?
No problem. Please come hands free. A stroller is not required to do the exercises.
• If I wear my Baby, what carrier do you recommend?
Bring a hands free front or backpack carrier in which you and Baby feel comfortable. (i.e.: Moby Wrap; Ergo; Beco, Kelty, etc.) We suggest a carrier that is centered on your front for the most comfort and least stress on your spine. Centered on your back is okay, but front is ideal. This way you can see Baby the whole time and you can properly secure Baby’s head with your hand or carrier. We will keep an eye on your child, but you take full responsibility for your child’s safety.
• How will I know my Baby is safe?
Don’t worry, we will provide safety guidelines to keep your child snug, secure, and content throughout class. However, by signing up for class, you agree to assume all responsibility for your baby’s safety. Please read and follow your carrier’s instructions in the manual before your first class.
• Will you provide a carrier?
No. Please bring a hands free front or backpack carrier in which you and Baby feel comfortable. (i.e.: Moby Wrap; Ergo; Beco, Kelty, etc.) We are more than happy to show you how we wrap our babies and let you try a carrier. However, you assume all risk when wrapping your child.
• Do I need to bring anything else?
Yes, in addition to your baby carrier, please bring water, a sweat towel, and sunscreen for your family. Wear socks & tennis shoes and a hat if you like. Bring a burp cloth/wipes/blanket for Baby. You may bring a Yoga mat but it is not necessary.
• I have Twins or Multiple children; can I stroll or wear both Babies?
Yes! Our founder, Sarah Harding is a mother of twins and knows first hand how hard it is to juggle both babies at the same time. Rest assured, our program will help you too! Your instructors can help you learn how to safely exercise while wearing or strolling both babies (or wearing one and strolling the other). Older children are welcome to attend our Family Fitness class provided you think they’ll stay in the stroller/carrier or join Mom and Dad in the exercises.

Feel free to tend to Baby as you see fit. Your instructor will ensure you get in a great workout while you nurture your child. There are a series of variations to the exercises to adapt for a fussy baby. Relax and take care of Baby. Pull him out of the stroller, hold him, wear him, burp him, feed him. We will provide fitness assignments if you’d like to continue exercising and improving your posture and overall well-being.
• Can I stop to breastfeed Baby?
Yes! Please bring a Breastfeeding cover if that’s what you’re used to and make yourself comfortable. Your instructor will help you learn how to perform gentle Pilates inspired exercises while you breastfeed. Our primary concern is your Baby’s latch and your milk letdown. After they both occur, we can show you gentle ways to build core strength while you breastfeed.
• Do I need previous dance or Pilates experience to take your classes?
No. You do NOT need Prior dance or Pilates experience to enjoy any of our classes. “Jia-Yo!” Wear Your Baby Workout is the only advanced class requiring medium to higher level fitness training, however previous Pilates or dance experience is not required.
